This woman is so cool. I never see whites recognize the fact that there are people alive today that grew up with family members who were born into slavery. Let’s say that again: There are black people alive today in our country, who knew and loved and were nurtured by family members and friends who had been enslaved, forced into a system that is one of the greatest sins ever committed by the human race. Our horrendous sin of slavery has not passed into history. It continually waits to be addressed, and no one black history month will cover the real need to delve into why slavery existed and who continues to benefit from it having existed. Even more important, how does slavery continue to exist?
